The last of my weekly tree post finds me back with the Western Hemlock. There’s humans around the edges, drums from a very old 4 track recording of the Nice’s Brian Davidson. I have twisted them to 21st century oddness but I am sure Brian wouldn’t mind he was a genius drummer and never minded odd. The guitars are an attempt to play like a tree, no seriously now I know I’m on mission to crack that particular nut. The best bits for me are still The tree then later the fungus and activity underground in the earth, that stuff is industrial, mycelium working hard.

Now I look back on these plant demos as a moment in time, i feel good. But its time to make them into a proper finished EP or something, plenty of ideas, so I am a happy Assassin. Also I feel I need time to assess and listen to what I’ve done it’s been wild and I forget. Create post create post …. Hopefully I can do these mighty beings justice and shout their plight louder.

When you listen this week try and follow the tree’s breathing, slow, inhale slower exhale repeat and slow down, then deeper, slower mighty, epic but gentle. While playing the guitar I’ve tried to do this, meditating as I play.
